Youtube Channel, Marching Sport, posts a video of Stillman College Marching Band performing “Look Up” by artist, Daley. Stillman College is a private Presbyterian HBCU in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. With a little over 600 students, the college over 17 majors within the three offered academic schools, Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, and Education.
During the time of its establishment in 1876, the institute was conceptualized ‘for the training of colored men for the ministry.’ Over the next 100 years, the school expanded into a four-year liberal arts college and was accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Stillman’s athletic teams, also known as the Tigers or Lady Tigers, are members of the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) in Division I of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Currently, they offer athletic teams such as men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, and men’s and women’s Cross Country/Track & Field.
Stillman College’s marching band program was established in 1955 and has been led by over 12 leaders throughout the years. The marching band referred to as “Pride of the South” or the “Blue Pride” consists of a concert band and jazz band. It consists of 120 band members and is open to all students in attendance at Stillman College despite their major field.
The college also offers seven National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) organizations along with a couple honor programs. Stillman College is known for their excellent biological sciences programs and providing the latest computer technology to its students.
