Talladega College is a liberal arts and private HBCU in Talladega, Alabama. With 17 primary buildings,Talladega is also the oldest private historically black college in Alabama. The institution was created after three former slaves, Williams Savery, Thomas Tarrant, and Ambrose Headen came together and expressed the vital necessity of educating children . In 1869, the college formerly known as Swayne School, was issued as Talladega College.

The college has over 40 student organizations including their Tornado Marching Band. The band consists of over 200 members, making it the school’s biggest organization on campus. It is currently led by a total of five drum majors and is normally seen performing with Talladega’s dancers, the Dega Diamonds. Additionally, Talladega offers the NPHC organization, cheerleading, community service orgs, and more. Talladega’s intercollegiate athletic teams, also known as the crimson and blue Tornadoes, compete in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) at the NAIA Division II level. They offer both men and women sports including basketball, baseball/softball, golf, and volleyball.
